What is the optimal temperature for installation of the graphics? Can my graphics be put on over damage to the substrate? Should I clean the substrate surface before applying the graphics? |
It is highly recommended that all installation jobs take place in a controlled environment. In the event that a controlled environment is not available for the installation of the graphics we recommend the temperature to be between 65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Some graphics tend to rip at less than 65 degrees and stretch over 85 degrees, during installation. This is the optimal temperature for graphic adherence and handling. We don not recommend installation of graphics in adverse weather conditions including rain, extreme heat, and wind. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most graphics adhere well to flat or corrugated surfaces, with or without rivets. We have found that the best substrates to apply to are aluminum, glass, chrome, reinforced plastics, and some paints. Please check the surface of the paint in order to insure both the clear coat and the underlining paint are free of cracks, bubbles and any other imperfections. Adhering graphics to this kind of substrate causes damage to the substrate and installation of the graphics. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Removal of graphics can best be accomplished with heat and chemicals. If the graphic is temporary it can easily be removed with heat. If the graphic is kept on for an extended period of time chemical removal may be needed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The graphics will not adhere to oils or dirt of any kind. Make sure the substrate has been cleaned thoroughly before applying the graphic. We recommend straight rubbing alcohol is used in the cleaning process. Some cleaners tend to leave a waxy surface on the substrate causing loss of adherence with the graphics. Also make sure the surface is completely dry before adhering the graphics. If water gets underneath the surface of the graphic damage will result.
